YEIDA Launch EWS Housing Scheme on Yamuna Expressway

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has recently approved an Affordable Housing Scheme for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Here’s a summary of the key details:

EWS Housing Scheme by YEIDA

YEIDA has just approved a large-scale housing initiative for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, offering 30,000 residential plots (each 30 sqm) targeting individuals earning under ₹3 lakh per year.

In the first phase, 4,268 EWS plots will be launched in Sectors 17, 18, and 20, aimed at providing housing for workers near the upcoming Noida International Airport.

These fall under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority’s Board Resolution (85th meeting) held on June 18–19, 2025.

How & When to Apply

Formal scheme details (application process, fees, dates) have yet to be released publicly. Expect a lottery-based allotment similar to previous schemes.

High Potential : Proximity to the Jewar Airport and expressway suggests significant appreciation possibilities.

Affordable Entry : 30 sqm EWS plots are priced to be accessible, far below larger plot rates in the area.

Competition Risk : With tens of thousands of applicants, landing a plot may require multiple attempts.

Eligibility : Applicants must meet EWS category requirements and other YEIDA criteria.

Target Beneficiaries

Income Limit: Annual household income ≤ ₹3 lakh

Priority Reservations:

  • 29% for YEIDA-area workers (factories, construction, security, domestic help)
  • 5% for retired defence personnel
  • 5% for YEIDA employees

Eligibility Restrictions: One plot per family, no prior plot/flat allotment under YEIDA schemes.

YEIDA’s latest scheme offers a genuine opportunity for EWS category residents to secure plots near major infrastructure hubs on the Yamuna Expressway. If eligible, it’s wise to stay alert and apply—while acknowledging the odds and being realistic about timing and planning.
